God Hears

God named Ishmael ‘God hears’ before he was born. Later, God heard Ishmael’s cry when he was perishing in the wilderness, and opened his mother’s eyes to see a spring of water from which she gave him drink - and he lived.
Today’s spiritual descendants of Ishmael, the Muslims, are in the wilderness perishing, and crying out for living water. Let the Church pray to the Father to reveal the well of living water, Jesus, so that they might live.

Pray for
the Persecuted Church
in Egypt ...

2 Thessalonians 1:4-6, 11 (NLT) We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. And God will use this persecution to show His justice and to make you worthy of His Kingdom, for which you are suffering. In His justice He will pay back those who persecute you....So we keep on praying for you...

Could the all-knowing I AM have had today's Egyptian Church in mind as the apostle Paul wrote these words? Be part of the properly functioning body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 26) by identifying with the suffering of the Christians in Egypt and praying for them from 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12. Note also in verses 5-10 the encouragement offered that God’s justice will prevail in the end and, essentially, vengeance belongs to the Lord alone.

For the Family ...

There's a time and a season for everything. Pray for Christian workers among Muslims, many of whom are tired in the midst of great works that the Lord is doing, to receive what they need - whether it be refreshing rest, renewed energy, new insights or even good humor and joy in the battle.

For the Nation ...

The Government of Canada will create a new Office of Religious Freedom “to help protect religious minorities and to promote the pluralism that is essential to the development of free and democratic societies.” Pray

• that the protection of religious freedoms becomes a mainstay in Canada's domestic and foreign policy
• for Canadian believers to redeem the opportunity this freedom affords

Edmonton Shia Imam Dr. Usama Al-Atar, having been beaten and jailed by Saudi religious police while leading a group on the hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, wants the Canadian Government to provide a delegation in Mecca to protect the 5-7,000 Canadian Muslims who make the yearly pilgrimage. Pray for wisdom for the Government in responding to this request. Al-Atar describes pilgrimage as “transformative”. Pray he’ll experience the transforming power of being born again in Jesus Christ.

... for Egypt's Muslims

The various branches of the Church in Egypt have been coming together as one to worship and pray. Jesus tells His disciples (John 13:35), “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples.” Pray for their love to increase, even as the various Islamic and secular factions divide and compete. Pray that Egypt’s Muslims will be confronted with the love and unity of those who name Jesus as Lord and will be convicted of the reality of His Lordship through the witness of His faithful followers in Egypt. Ask God for a big harvest among the Muslims of Egypt, and for the Church to accept and love Muslims who decide to follow Jesus.
